The VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program, auth. M.L. Sundberg, 2014) is an effective assessment tool designed to evaluate the language and social skills of children with autism or other developmental disabilities. It focuses on assessing verbal behavior and communication skills in various areas such as manding (requesting), tacting (labeling), intraverbal behavior (conversation), and social skills.

The VB-MAPP serves as a valuable resource for understanding their child’s language and communication development. It provides insights into areas of strength and areas needing further support, helping parents and caregivers tailor interventions and educational programs to better meet their child’s needs.

The VB-MAPP is available in multiple languages to accommodate a diverse range of families and professionals working with children with autism around the world. While the specific number of languages it is available in may vary over time, it has been translated into several languages, including Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, among others. This multilingual availability enhances its accessibility and usefulness for families and professionals worldwide.
