Children’s Day Care Centre provides – day care in a social care institution for children with moderate or severe disabilities. Licence No L000001016, issued on 03 June 2022.
Social day care is a set of services that provide a person with complex, ongoing support during the day that requires constant specialist care. The Sėkmingi vaikai Children’s Day Care Centre provides day social care services for children with severe and moderate disabilities.
Day center activities
Children attending the day care center receive individual and group sessions from occupational therapists, physiotherapists, sensory integration specialists, social workers, and personal care specialists. Our professionals are constantly improving their qualifications and training to help children with multiple developmental disabilities more effectively. The main goal is to strengthen, develop, and consolidate each child’s social and independence skills, according to their individual abilities and needs.
Day center environment
To ensure that the environment is properly adapted to each child and his or her individual needs, we follow the principles of universal design. We use educational tools for group and individual activities. High-quality, certified sports, sensory and play equipment ensures a safe and motivating environment for everyone.
Day center methodologies
In the day center, the main educational activity is play – a structured and engaging activity in which children learn through rules and goals. Play includes components such as goals, rules, challenges and interactivity and is therefore particularly important in childhood and early adolescence. Social and role-play are predominant in early childhood and promote socialization and empathy, helping children to grow into cooperative and understanding people.
The types of play used are social, parallel, independent, functional, creative, and imaginative play. They are not only fun but also make a significant contribution to the development of physical and mental functions, promoting children’s healthy and harmonious growth.
